We
have a significant amount of experience
in obtaining permits from the New York
State Department of Environmental
Conservation (NYS DEC), the Adirondack
Park Agency (APA) and the Lake George
Park Commission (LGPC) and negotiating
Consent Orders with these
agencies. Our experience with the
State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA)
extends through all phases of this
environmental review process and
involves projects ranging from single
family homes with no environmental
impacts to multi-phased commercial
projects requiring preparation of
Environmental Impact Statements.
We are skilled at monitoring compliance
with SEQRA requirements from both the
applicant's perspective and as
representative of the lead agency.
Mark Schachner, one of our principals,
authored the chapter entitled
"Environmental Law - New York State
Environmental Quality Review Act (S.E.Q.R.A.)"
in the New York Bar Association's book
Pitfalls of Practice and lectures
regularly on the topic at Adirondack
Community College.
